Abstract
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common and distressing symptom that affects up to 45% of women. There are several surgical treatment options for the management of women with SUI. As newer materials and less invasive techniques emerge, the prevalence of surgical treatment has increased (Jonsson Funk et al., Obstet Gynecol 119:845, 2012). Although several Cochrane reviews and randomized controlled trials have attempted to compare the clinical effectiveness of each surgical approach, few have focused on adverse events and complications rates as an end point. This chapter details complications of surgery for SUI.
