Abstract

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the use of medications in its treatment continue to evolve as its prevalence trends upward. Many psychiatrists face challenges in determining the correct balance of medications and other evidence-based treatments. Psychopharmacology remains an important treatment intervention in addressing the accompanying disorders related to this syndrome. This chapter will serve as a guideline for the current psychopharmacologic agents utilized in clinical practice, centered on medications supported by literature and research.
