Why Manage Your Digital Identity Online

If you don’t pro-actively build your own digital identity, search engines will do it for you. Despite the many safety measures you can take to limit your imprint on the Internet, you cannot be completely stealthy, and fly below the many search engines. Nor can you delete all the digital traces you leave behind in your personal and professional lives. You can, however, push some of the more current, positive information to the forefront by creating new content that represents your work as a researcher, a scholar, and as an academic.
